LION RELOCATION

A success story of the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW) and African Parks (AP) as they successfully translocate seven orphaned lion cubs from Liuwa Plain National Park to Kafue National Park (KNP). @matt_blair.zw covered the operation, involving helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft transfers, to the new holding bomas back in Kafue.

The @north_luangwa conservation canine unit plays an integral role in the detection of illegal wildlife products and the prevention of illegal wildlife trade through the Luangwa Valley, and beyond. Well qualified and skilled handlers, like Joyce Chiluba, have been working with the dogs for a number of years and have been very successful in the contribution towards wildlife crime arrests.
